Mervyn appoints eminent advisory panel

Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva has appointed an advisory panel today consisting of University lecturers and professors to advise him on political and development matters, Public Relations Ministry said.Head of the languages Department of the Pali University Professor Uthurawala Dammarathana Thera has been appointed as the President of the panel and Secretary is the Kelaniya University’s Human Rights Department Asst. RegistrarKamalasiri Mallikaarachchi, while senior lecturer of Colombo University Nihal Hewage, Head of the Economic Studies Department, at Kelaniya University, Doctor Ajith Dissanayaka and Ambalogama Wimalanana Thera are the other members of the panel.
The objective of the panel is to study the development work in the Kelaniya during his tenure as the organizer and to present a report on the field which is still to be developed. The panel is also responsible of recommending personnel to be appointed for posts by the Minister.
