The United National Party (UNP) today filed a complaint at the Human Rights Commission over the arrest of several of its members in connection with the Matara Clash on October 5.
“The Matara police have arrested some UNP members who had nothing to do with the clash. We see this as an attempt to destroy the party,” UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said.
He said a soldier who was passing by at the time had also been injured and said there should be compensation to all the victims.
