A 40-year-old Indian national who attempted to smuggle several pieces of rough gold weighing 477g worth Rs. 2.7 million to Delhi was arrested this morning by Customs officers at the BIA, Customs Director and media spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
Customs officials said the gold pieces had been packed in condoms, and hidden in the suspect's rectum.
Meanwhile customs’ officials detected another two rough gold rings weighing 15g and a gold bangle weighing 45g wearing in his hands. (Chaturanga Pradeep-DM Online)
