Man assaults army officer in civvies
A man had assaulted an army officer who was in civvies in Maharagama when the officer asked him to move his motorcycle as he was wearing a full face helmet today.The police had deployed police and army personals in civvies near banks and jewelry shops to stem robberies and other criminal activities from taking place due to the New Year festival.
The army officer and two police officers had been deployed near a private bank in Maharagama in civvies as per the plan.
The army officer had asked a person who was wearing a full face helmet to move his motorcycle from the vicinity of the bank. An argument ensued between the two and the motorcyclist had assault the officer.
The motorcyclist had been arrested.
