LTTE behind Mullaitivu mass grave: Police
An eyewitness has told the police that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was responsible for the recently unearthed mass grave site in Mullaitivu, the Police said today.“A resident from the area said that he was an eyewitness of the incident and that the LTTE was responsible for the mass grave site. According to the eye witness the LTTE had buried the bodies in February 2009,” Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
Last Thursday a family stumbled upon the remains of at least nine bodies buried in their garden in Mullaithivu.
The police said the skeletal remains were taken for analysis by the Judicial Medical Officer in the area. (LSP)
