Making a complaint with Horana police, the principal of Horana Sri Medhankara Maha Vidyalaya had complained that the statement made by the school girl alleging that she picked coconuts in order to raise funds to paint the school buildings was due to the influence e of an area politician.
The school Principal K. Senaratne had told police that the concerned politician had done so in order to defame him and the school.
The principal further complained to the police that two person riding a motorcycle had threatened him with death near the Horana town yesterday.
Principal K. Senaratne told police that he was threatened with death while he was arriving at school by a motorcycle. The principal alleged that the two persons scolded with abusive language stating that their council member was not fit with him and thereby asked him to resign from the school with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, an inquiry held into the incident by the Educational Department of Western Province had found that the statement made by thirteen-year-old school girl that she picked eight coconuts to find Rs.800 asked for her by school authority was a false statement.
Submitting an inquiry report in connection with the incident by a four member committee had revealed that the principal had not given instructions to the school girl to find Rs.800 and thereby the principal was not found guilty for the charges.
The inquiry report urged the school authorities that a better environment be created for the school girl in order to carry out her educational activities in the school without any hindrance.
The principal further complained that two person riding a motorcycle had threatened him with death near the Horana town yesterday. (Kusal Chamath)

I checked the results of year five, O/L & A/L prior to this so called principal & after. Amazingly after his arrival, all those results immensely increased. Therefore I believe this principal is doing something good for the community by producing more educated people for the society. These are our gods & don't let politicians to hang good people.

Any right thinking person would know that this girl had not lied. Why should she? On the contrary, there are many reasons for the others concerned to make false statements at this inquiry.

My son attending to Bambalapitiya Hindu College, asked me to buy a bottle of Air Freshener for his school, as his teacher asked for school. Can you imagine what is going in the Gov. school against free education. They demand money for Painting, Security, Lab charges, sport meet, cultural program, party for retired staff etc.

Why would a 13 year old lie in fear?? They will tell the truth in police interrogation OR she should be a experienced robber. Latter cant be.
Ask police or CID to check with other girls in the school. you will get the reason crystal clear without any force.....

The latest request was in January and this time we did not give any money. If they want parents to help paint that's fine.
There was a recent request from one of the teachers for money for some books.
