Legal action against false complaint

The police said today legal action would be taken against D.V. Piyasena who had made a complaint that he was assaulted by the Western Provincial Chief Minister.
“The investigations had revealed that the complaint was false,” police said.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga had lodged a complaint asking the police to take legal action against the man who made the false complain.
Charge sheets are to be submitted to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court tomorrow against the false complainant.
