Lankan team attack case adjourned

A special bench of the Lahore High Court on Thursday adjourned till October 24 the hearing of the Punjab government appeal seeking cancellation of bail granted to Zubair alias Naik Muhammad, alleged mastermind of attack on Sri Lankan cricket team.

The bench headed by Justice Shahid Hameed Dar also excluded the accused from court appearances as he requested the court that his life was in danger.

Earlier, Additional Prosecutor General Punjab Abdul Samad told the bench that respondent Zubair was a prime accused in the attack and they had arrested him with the help of CCTV footage. He said police had ample proofs of his involvement in the attack but the anti terrorism court had granted him bail without going through facts.

The prosecutor requested the court to cancel the bail granted to Zubair and issue orders for his arrest. (Source: The News)
