Karuwalagaswewa PS Chairman arrested

Karuwalagaswewa Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Neil Weerasinghe was arrested by the Police for allegedly assaulting an Irrigation engineer at Thabbowa tank, police said.Last year too, Weerasinghe was arrested on charges of having assaulted a young man under the influence of liquor.
He was produced in the Puttalam Magistrate Courts today and was ordered to be remanded till July 9. (Jude Samantha)
