Kabir asked to initiate party reforms

United National Party (UNP) MP Kabir Hashim who has been assigned by party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to have discussions with MPs Karu Jayasuriya and Sajith Premadasa on party reforms, today assured that he would work towards a settlement acceptable to all.

Mr. Hashim told Daily Mirror that the party leader had assigned him to have a dialogue with Mr. Premadasa and Mr. Jayasuriya on the 19-point plan proposed by him (Mr. Wickremesighe), and he would meet them in the coming week.

“I have not been asked to abide by the leader’s proposals but to come to a settlement, which may go even beyond,” he said. (YP)
