Nominations lists for Colombo

There should be a another column for each candidate that stipulate their highest professional/educational qualifications. Perhaps the EC should consider this for the next election (if-any), people have the right to know their representatives credentials. Having said that, UNP list is miles ahead of UPFA with academically and professional qualified candidates. Good move.

1.UNP Quiet Impresed Their Team as All Are educated and Professional2. UPFA the same Old Faces which has no politically visions and more over Dinesh/Wimal/Gamma/Bandulla//Gamini lokuge/Thilanga/Rohita Bogollaga Family enjoy the Ministry and travel overseas luxuary hotels etc/ These faces will not get more than 10-15 thousand votes as they dont have recognise political parties3.JVP only slogan and never supportive any government ,useless but good as a 4rd force,

The UNP list looks like a combined alumni of some local and foreign universities plus some experienced politicians. The UPFA list is best forgotten and it will be forgotten after the 17th.

Qualifications is no major criteria for people to vote for a person at an election. This may be an additional plus point. Popularity, good public speaking, ability to move and empathise with the common people, past service to the electorate, honesty and experience as a politician are what people look for when voting.
