Indian arrested for filming HSZ

An Indian national who was on tourist visa was arrested yesterday on charges of filming military establishments in Kilinochchi High Security Zone, the Police said.

According to Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana, the suspect Tamil Prabhakaran was from Tamil Nadu. “He will be brought to Colombo today to be handed over to the immigration officials for violating visa,” The spokesman said.

Meanwhile defence sources said that the person is an associate of TNA MP Sridharan and had come to Sri Lanka on a tourist visa on December 20. There were more than 50 photos related to Army deployments in his camera.

The suspect, who is believed to be a pro LTTE activist have written a series of article to a Tamil Nadu Magazine called ‘Junior Vigadan’ under the title ‘searching for footsteps of Tigers’. A book was also published on the same title recently.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had visited Sri Lanka previously.

Anyone can see this army camp in detail via the Google satellite images from any computer! If the army is not guilty they should have posed for the journalist to take pictures than arresting him!!

when I travel to North of Sri lanka, I see many army camps with heavy security. I have a question whom are they protecting? I still see hundreds of miles on both sides of the road broken empty houses. where are the people?

There is such a thing as National Security establishments and HSZ anywhere in the world. Do you think someone can go along and video the Pentagon or similar institution? We can't even pass security at Mumbai or chennai without being harassed for hours, so please can you talk as educated people?

HSZ in peoples living area? mean in village? is there any HSZ in Hambantoda villages? Galle villages? Why SL gov need to have HSZ in Tamils villages?
Army should be in boarder of the country not in the own peoples home. WTF
