Minister Mervyn Silva today said that he is the most suitable SLFPer to be the next Prime Minister.

The Minister in response to a question raised by a journalist said that he is the most suitable candidate in the SLFP for the Prime Ministerial post.

“There is no other person in the SLFP who is more suitable than I am to be appointed premier. My sister, brother and brother in law were all killed. I was injured, I have been jailed. My family home in Beliatta was destroyed. I have done my politics with the Rajapaksas. I should be the Presidents most trusted man, so give it (Premiership) to me,” he said at a press conference. (Hafeel Farisz and Lahiru Pothmulla)
