Heavy rains, strong winds
The Meteorology Department in its weather forecast for the next 24 hours today warned people specially those living in areas bordering the sea to be vigilant about the adverse weather situation.
It warned that sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Galle and Matara may be rough at times and dangerous as the wind speeds could be increase up to 70kmph.
“The seas round the island will also be rough with wind speedsof between 50 and 60kmph,” it said.
