Very simple possibility. The President is a target for assassination by poisoning by whoever (local and/or foreign conspirators) doesn't like the fact that he does not dance to their tune. Just like they killed Hugo Chavez with a cancer, they are trying to kill the President, but Dr. White somehow magically figures out the cures! So, they want to eliminate Dr. White so that they can get to the President thereafter.

Spiritual healing has no prescription, like in western medicine. The conspirators cannot predict it. :)
