Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa today said the government was willing to work together with the TNA and hold discussions within the framework of the Constitution.

Addressing a press conference in Colombo Minister Rajapaksa said he hoped that the TNA would not betray the people by taking them back to a separatist struggle. (HF)

Good opportunity to seize. CM Vigneshwaran already has accepted the unitary state and that is the first slap to separatists.Secondly he has given a thumping knock to Tamilnadu barkers asking them to mind their own business.These are all good signs and we must to disregard the value of such person who has close Sinhalese relations also.He has the full potential to heal the traumatised and polarised nation if government give him the due respect.

We could have resolved so many burning issues if the Sinhala politicians were ready to work with the rest of the community. Now that they have no choice they will have to work with them.I hope this is a genuine concern and not just to hoodwink people. To start with you will have to give 13+ to them as promised by your leader.

Grow up Basil! Whether we like it or not, they annihilated you at the Northern PC polls and don't think that you are doing favours by working with them. The people in the North has 'spoken' and its up to the government to listen to them and bring about meaningful and sustainable solutions.
