Gota cannot be arrested in four cases: SC

The Supreme Court today clarified that former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa cannot be arrested in respect to four incidents mentioned in the Fundamental Rights petition and his arrest cannot be made by three respondents including the IGP, CID Director and DIG of the FCID.

Filing a motion, the Attorney General today sought a clarification regarding the interim order issued sequent to a Fundamental Rights Petition by Mr. Rajapaksa. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Arrests have to be made by the Police. The IGP is debarred from arresting Gota. Does this include the entire Police force.
