The Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, G L Peiris is to visit on August 18 to invite India for the heads of Commonwealth Summit, a spokesman of Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka is hosting the summit meeting in November.

During the visit to India the issues related to India and Sri Lanka are also likely to be discussed.

Some political parties have protested and asked India not to participate in the Summit. (The Hindu)
