Five DIGs, two SSPs transferred

Five Deputy Inspector Generals of Police including newly promoted DIG Vass Gunawardane and two Senior Superintendent of Police have been transferred with effect from yesterday, Police Headquarters said.Accordingly, DIG Gunawardane, who was in Ratnapura has been appointed as the DIG Gampaha.
Following DIGs and SSPs have been transferred.
A Sarath Kumara has been transferred from Gampha division to Kurunegala, L.G.Kularatne (DIG Kurunegala) to Trincomalee, Mahesh Perera from Trinocmalle to Ratnapura and Kegalle, A.C. Wijesuriya from Ratnapura and Kegalle to Nuwara Eliya.
Former media Spokesman SSP Preshantha Jayakody has been transferred to the Ratnapura Division and SSP W.K. Jayalath has been transferred to the Police Examinations Division. (Darshana Sanjeewa)
