Extra security as Justice Tillakawardane handles double the work
Supreme Court judge, Justice Shiranee Tilakawardane had been provided with extra security as the bench presided over by her heard a large number of cases yesterday.
A spokesman for Justice Tilakawardane’s chamber said that extra security was provided as a crowd control measure due to enormously large number of cases heard by the three judge bench headed by Justice Tilakawardane.
“Extra security was requested as a crowd control purpose since there were double the work than a usual day,” the spokesperson said.
There was a large crowd of litigants including petitioners and respondents before the bench headed by Justice Tilakawardane.
Justice Tilakawardane presided over the bench which included Justices Satya Hettige PC and Priyasath Depp. (Susitha R. Fernando)
