UPFA member of Eastern Provincial Council Priyantha Pathirana was hospitalized last night due to an alleged assault by Susantha Galappaththi - son of Chairman of EPC Ariyawathi Galappaththi, police said.

Pathirana was later flown to the National Hospital in Colombo. Both parties have lodged complaints with the Uppuweli police. (AA)
