Enjoining order on all Fonterra products

The Gampaha District Court today issued an enjoining order preventing the sale and distribution of all Fonterra products in Sri Lanka. The order was issued in a case filed by the Government Nursing Officers Association.

The court also ordered Fonterra to desist from advertising Fonterra products in a misleading manner.

Counsel Upul Jayasuriya, Sandamal Rajapaksa and Kalana Jayasuriya appeared for the plaintiffs.(HF)

There is some truth in Fonterra case. The CEO of Fonterra New Zealand has resigned accepting responsibility.

I believe an enjoining order is given 'ex-parte' i.e without the other party (Fontera in this case) being present and is for a limited time . Fontera can move the courts to have the order revoked which I am sure they will do

I say again, garry romano resignation had nothing to with DCD or botulism concerns, everyone has ups and down in their career, it was just a resignation form one of the plant managers in NZ, as his resignation took place during this issue in sri lanka, everyone tries to relate this to current situation. srilanka would not survive in this global village without multinational companies, if government want to uplift local milk industry, they should try to do this in an ethical systematic manner, not making false accusations to such a wide spread and quality company, this is simply outrageous!

this Nursing Union is crazy! New Zealand is a fairly good place to buy dairy products. If they stop sending, who will take over that place probably eat Asian giants.
