Election hotlines announced
Two hot lines were setup by the Elections Department to receive complaints of election violence at the Northern, North Western and Central Provincial Council elections, an official said.The complaints would be entertained till the last ballot boxes arrived at the counting centres, he said.
Additional Commissioner R. M. A. L. Ratnayake said people could call 0112877612 and 0112877618 to report any incidents of election violations or violence during the election period.
The Elections Department Complaint Centre said persons lodging complaints could do so anonymously or send a fax with personal details through 0112877613.
The Elections Department said accepting complaints would be done in a special operation on Election Day (21) from 6.30 a.m. till the final ballots arrived at the counting centres.
