Drug detection: Pakistani nabbed at BIA

A Pakistan national, who is one of the main suspects in connection with the discovery of more than 150 kgs heroin from Orugodawatta and Katugastota, was arrested by law enforcement authorities when the suspect was coming from Karachchi at the Bandaranaike International Airport, on Saturday.
Police said the suspect identified as Shakil Ahemed who had direct involvement in the country’s main drug dealing network, was conducting his operation in a house in Seeduwa. In recent occasions, Narcotic Bureau officials detected 93 kgs of heroin from Orugodawatta and another 59 kgs from Katugastota.
Police said the arrested suspect had been directly involved in these two cases.
