The doctor has practiced in US for over 15 years as a cosmetic surgeon. Prior to that he was a Doctor attached to Panadura hospital. Many who practiced in Sri Lanka and was charging thumping amounts lost their business to him. This is an unfortunate complication.

The issue here is that clinic did not have facilities to manage the situation like this. If you follow the reports carefully , that revealed that Dr. Himself reported the issue to police. How many of the other doctors would do it.

A local newspaper proves that his licence had been revoked in America back in 1995 due to malpractices and he never obtained a surgical licence in Sri Lanka

I say hang these "snake oils men" before they corrupt the island with these western nonsense. Cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery should be only relegated to burn victims and similar necessities. Not for these con artist rouges to make money.

If he is a qualified doctor then this is clearly a case of medical misadventure. Doctor should have known better.

Hi,

It is true we are human and 'we make mistakes'. However, not at the expense of people's lives. 'Doctors' are responsible individuals dealing with the lives of patients and the sick, publicly. Further, there is only a fine line between professionalism and negligence.

When a drug is administered by a 'doctor' the public rely on the skill and judgement of the medical practitioner. We hope that the drugs used are safe, not-outdated and fit for the purpose. Unfortunately, in this case that was not to be!!!
