District Judge orders count of sealed ballot papers

District Judge Ranga Dissanayake, today ordered the Puttalam police through the Registrar of Courts to inform the officers who conducted investigations into the marked ballot papers found at St. Andrew’s College Puttalam, to open the sealed packets containing marked ballot papers and subject them to a recount.

The marked ballot papers were discovered at St Andrew’s College Puttalam on the 24th of last month, and are in the custody of the Registrar of Puttalam District Court.

The ballot papers are to be recounted in the presence of all candidates. (Hiran Priyankara Jayasinghe)
