Dharmadasa nominated for SLC presidency

The only candidate for the post of president of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Jayantha Dharmadasa, has been nominated as the president of SLC by the Executive Committee of SLC a short while ago, sources said.

He was the former president of SLC.

Meanwhile, issuing a statement the Sri Lanka Cricket announced that at the Executive Committee meeting held today, Jayantha Dharmadasa was nominated as the next President of SLC in accordance with the SLC Constitution, since all three previous nominees were deemed ineligible.

“Mr. Jayantha Dharmadasa has given his consent to be the President in a letter to the Executive Committee of SLC.

The Minister of Sports Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage had previously given his approval for Mr. Jayantha Dharmadasa to contest the post of President of Sri Lanka Cricket.”
