Czech drowns at Thalalla

A Czech national had drowned, while bathing at the Gandara Thalalla Sea this morning, the Police said.

The victim, identified as 46-year-old Velle Vency, had come to Sri Lanka on vacation with his family.

While staying at a hotel in Mirissa, they had gone to Thalalla to enjoy a sea bath, the Police said.

While bathing he had been washed away.

He was brought ashore with the help of the residents and was taken to the Matara Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
