Customs seize foreign currency, gold at BIA
A Korean national carrying foreign currency amounting to Rs. 1,500,000 was arrested last night at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), customs officials said today.
The 40-year-old suspect who visited the country on Friday on a tourist visa had attemptedto leave for Chennai, India last night.
Meanwhile, Customs officials at BIA seized a contraband of 03 gold bars concealed in the rectum of an Indian. They weighed 257g and were valued at Rs. 1,285,000. The Indian national was departing to Chennai yesterday.
