CID records statement of Madumadawa
The CID today recorded a statement from popular singer Madumadawa Aravinda over the speech he had made at Aluthgama on June 15, Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana said.The CID today recorded a statement from popular singer Madumadawa Aravinda over the speech he had made at Aluthgama on June 15.
Last week the CID recorded a statement from the Bodhu Bala Sena General Secretary the Ven. Galabodaththe Ganasara Thera and from the Convener of the Sihala Ravaya Movement.
Since June 15, the police had arrested 118 people. Eighty eight were produced in courts and 25 released on police bail.
In the aftermath of the riots at Beruwala and Aluthgama, the CID was directed to specifically investigate the assault on a monk and the deaths because other law enforcement agencies and the police were investigating other incidents which took place that day. (Lahiro Pothmulla)
