A 73-year-old British national was arrested by the Alawathugoda Police yesterday for overstaying his visa and violating immigration laws, the Police said.

The suspect is to be produced before the Magistrate today.

Meanwhile, the Police said, an Indian national was arrested near the South Eastern University (Oluvil) in Sammanthurai yesterday for overstaying his visa and violating immigration laws.

The suspect was from Tamil Nadu, India and he is expected before the Sammanthurai Magistrate today.
