BBS warned against insulting lawyers

The Colombo Fort Magistrate today warned Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera to stop making defamatory comments against lawyers.

Magistrate Thilina Gamage said lawyers were considered as court officials and this warning was relevant to all parties concerned.

Counsel Maithri Gunaratne in a complaint to the police said on June 9 while he was passing by the Ven. Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera had made an insulting comment against him outside the Magistrate’s Court. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
