Australian Senator to investigate SL asylum seekers

An Australian Senator Lee Rhinannon says she wants to investigate issues behind the influx of asylum seekers from Sri Lanka to Australia and thereafter submit a detailed report to the Australian parliament.

In a wide ranging interview regarding Sri Lanka and various issues affecting the country, Senator Lee Rhinannon says she's planning to visit before next week's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, or CHOGM, in Colombo.

She told Australia News that she would be travelling to various parts of the country and engaging with many of the locals.

Take them home - but not at tax payers cost. Someone who can pay $20,000 to a human smuggler cannot be a refugee. Most of them leave Sri Lanka with a valid passport
