A woman known as ‘Angulana Kudu Nona’ and another suspect were arrested with a stock of 4,000 packets of drugs in their possession by the Angulana police this evening, police said.

Police Intelligence seized this stock of heroin while the suspects were transporting it, on a tip-off given to them by an informant.

“The woman concerned was the main distributor of illegal drugs in several areas and the two suspects arrested had served jail terms earlier for their involvement in the racket. The stock of heroin seized during the raid was worth more than Rs. 3 million” police said.

Angulana police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of Mount Lavinia Division. (News and pix by Rekah Tharangani)
