Alleged brothel raided in Pasyala

At least seven people including four women were arrested today when police raided an alleged brothel in Pasyala on the Colombo-Kandy Road. A top police official said the alleged brothel was operated in a subtle manner with clients coming to obtain the services being screened by two youths before the gates are open.

The police team had to jump over the huge parapet walls surrounding the two storied house.

Police had obtained a search warrant prior to the raid and used a decoy to gain access to the premises.

Among those arrested were four women, two youths and the owner of the house.

These four women were said to be from Suriyawewa, Polpithigama, Hasalaka and Kahataghasdigiliya. The youngest was a 17 year old from Suriyawewa.
Police said clients patronizing the alleged brothel were charged Rs. 2000 upwards a hour while 50% of it was given to the alleged sex worker.

on the other sides rate of rapes are going up...
Sex drive is a natural phenomenon, y do u play with peoples feelings, desires..
Imagine if someone is not married and does not have access to a good partner...

Human being need to have sexual outlet, in sri lankan context sex should only happened within a marriage. Marriage is a more or less determined by the economic context . So given its backward economiy and lack of opportunity,there are no soicaly accepted way of sexual out let. This why rape rate is going up.
Our moron politician and religeous advisers will never learn this.

Prostitution and rape will go away from this earth when everyone has true love and lover from teenages.

Encourage love. Show and teach our children what true love is. Let our children to have a lover with deep commited love. Teach them how to handle their sexuality safe and harmless.

We have created a sick world by forbidding love and natural sex.

Here the crimes only stop by rape but if u legalize it will not stop there, it will be taken up one step further, THE RAPE WILL HAPPEN AND THE GIRL WILL BE SOLD TO BROTHELS...what typically happening India

Shazz, look at this way, If you legalize it, authorities would have easy access to brothel house. Monitoring would be easy. Even health benefit like screening for HIV and AIDS can be carried out. And we would have a count of sex workers, and houses. It will not be under the carpet. When its not legalized, lots of irregularities happen, as u said the rape and selling etc., and doesnt come to authorities notice.One thing, we cannot stop this trade. Not a single country from the known years of mankind, could stop this. So, no point thinking of stopping it, better manage the problem properly.

Why we should interfere interaction between two consenting adults for money or not.
