Accident kills one injuring sixteen

A 49 year-old man had been killed and another 16 were injured after two lorries collided head-on near Modara bridge in Kosgoda on the Galle-Colombo Main Road early this morning, the Police said.

The victim was resident of Payagala.

Seven women and nine men, who were among the injured, were admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital.
