Zelenskyy thanks Sri Lankan President

Colombo, August 25 (Daily Mirror) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has extended his heartfelt gratitude to Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for his warm wishes on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Taking to the social media platform ‘X’, President Zelenskyy expressed appreciation for Sri Lanka’s continued support and emphasised the friendly relations between the two countries.

"I thank President Aura Kumara Dissanayake for the warm and sincere greetings on Ukraine’s Independence Day. Ukraine values the friendly relations and cooperation with Sri Lanka, based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to peace and prosperity. We are confident that our relations hold potential for further development, bringing benefits to both nations," Zelenskyy said.

President Dissanayake, in a formal letter addressed to the Ukrainian leader, extended his congratulations to the people of Ukraine on their Independence Day and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
