Young man rescued after climbing lamp post in Fort
Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - A young man who climbed to the top of a street lamp post in the Fort area on Friday was safely rescued following a joint operation by the Fire Brigade and Police.
The incident, which unfolded in full view of commuters and pedestrians, drew a large crowd and prompted a rapid response from emergency services.
Firefighters worked for nearly an hour to bring the man down safely, using specialized equipment to ensure no harm came to him or others.
While the motive behind the act remains unclear, police suspect it may have been a form of protest.
