Colombo, May 14 (Daily Mirror) - The writ petition filed seeking an order declaring that Jaffna District Parliamentarian Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna is disqualified to be a Member of Parliament was today fixed for support on June 26 by the Court of Appeal.

Social activist Oshala Herath filed this petition seeking an order in the nature of a Writ of Quo Warranto declaring that Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna is disqualified to be a Member of Parliament.

When the matter came up before the Court of Appeal two-judge-bench comprising Justices Mayadunne Corea and Mahen Gopallawa, counsel who appeared on behalf of Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna sought a further date to support the application.

The petitioner stated that Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna is a public officer attached to the Ministry of Health and, therefore, as a public officer, he has a contract with the State.

Counsel N.K. Ashokbharan appeared for petitioner Oshala Herath.

Counsel Nishadi Wickramasinghe appeared for MP Archuna Ramanathan.

Additional Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardhana PC appeared for the Attorney General.

Honestly he doesn’t deserve to be an MP in the parliament at all: personality matters in public service: if someone does not know how to talk , how to discuss, how to listen and how to debate and how to interact, what kind of MP is he? What kind of Dr is he? I’m really sorry to say that ? It looks like as if Jaffna doesn’t have good people to send to parliament: despite of the fact , every one knows about his behaviour issues before election how on earth , election commission gave him any nomination? I blame our EC not Dr . Our election commission should know all this: in the name of democracy you can not make mockery of parliament and it is a waste of time and energy and resources: it is up to you EC now : Take some responsibility when you give nomination next time

why put it all on one individual when you have so many even worse. At least he has his doctorate and hasn't cheated the public, add to it he comes out with facts unlike those from all parties who make statements just to make their presence felt. You know it and you have seen it so many times in the recent past so there is no denying Since we are on a cleanup campaign it is far better removin those who talk crap and have no sense or qualification whatsoever as you can see and hear.

Perusing some of the comments about Dr. Archuna Ramanathan it was surprising that some who do not have any type of qualifications are sitting in judgement and have already labelled him suffering from some mental illness. Look at his profile he is an MBBS GRADUATED FROM MADRAS MEDICAL COLLEGE INDIA. MS (Ortho). MASTERS IN ORTHOPAEDIC AND TRAUMATIC SURGERY, INDIA ,Mch (ORTHO) Master of CHIRURGIAE, UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE, UK where the present P.M has obtained her qualifications. The question should be asked why he is so unpopular, the reasons lie with the medicore of incompetent legislators in Parliament who always open their mouths and spout out lies, diabolic lies, and damn bloody lies. Always when he wants to speak some legislators barge in and interrupt to dissuade him from telling the truth. True All these confrontations occur when people whose IQ is in the kindergarten level who cannot comprehend and try to make a fool of him saying is mentally deranged but in fact he is a psychic
