World leaders congratulate Sri Lanka on its 76th Independence Day

Colombo, Feb. 04 (Daily Mirror)- Several world leaders, including His Holiness Pope Francis, King Charles III of the UK, US President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian President Droupadi Murmu congratulated Sri Lanka on its 76th Independence Day, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

Emperor Naruhito of Japan, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Yun Suk Yeol of South Korea, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore, President of Libya Dr. Mohamed Y. AL-Menfi, Governor General of Australia General David Hurley as well as the President of Pakistan, President of Bangladesh, Emir of the State of Kuwait were among other leaders who congratulated Sri Lanka.

    The world leaders are aware of the ethnic and racial problems in SL. However for courtesy sake they have sent their wishes. They should know that Sri Lanka needs two states. Palestine will be declared as a state soon.

    If only they know the true situation in the country, the human rights violations, murder and torture of innocent civilians, mass murder of innocent worshipers they would shun Sri Lanka like the plague.

    Sri Lanka is a country where the standard of living has deteriorated in recent years and has currently hit rock bottom because of corrupt politicians who are running the country. The congratulatory messages no doubt will only help to boost the confidence of the politicians to rob the country's resources even more.
