One wonders as to what President Anura Kumara Dissanayake would have come up with regarding the MOU which Sri Lanka has signed with the Chinese company Sinopec if he was in the Opposition today, Samagi Taruna Balawegaya National Organiser Chamith Wijesundara said today.

“The President would have come up with various false statements on Sri Lanka’s development on China if he was in the Opposition today. I can recall what he had said about China while he was in the Opposition. He said Sri Lanka will become a Chinese colony and spoke adversely about China many times while in the Opposition,” he said.

“One wonders what he felt when he praised China during the speech he made in Beijing,” he also said.

Don’t worry. What AKD said in extreme nationalistic point of view correct. In global political point view it was wrong. He addressed local people who were 30% fully idiotic. That 30% decides who will form the government. If he didn’t tell that, today we have same corrupt government. 40% educated public knew some statements are lies but the accepted it for larger benefit. The refinery was a project brought in by Ranil and opposed by NPP as to Chinese intention. We could have negotiated as Kings but now are the recipient as beggars. Chinese have their own agenda. They made us construct a port but took it back. We lost a valuable location. We bit the bait of port city and gave them a foot hold. Similar fate to cold power project. The Chinese may clean Sri Lanka.
