Woman killed, child injured in Marawila shooting

Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - A woman was shot dead and a 10-year-old child sustained injuries in a shooting incident reported from the Maranda area in Marawila, police said.

According to police, the woman was shot while standing in front of a house. The child, who was nearby at the time of the incident, was injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and further details are yet to be released.
