The windy condition is expected to develop over the country and in the sea areas around the island from Wednesday (06), the Meteorology Department said today.
Accordingly, it said that the prevailing showery condition in the South-Western part of the country will further continue with the cloudy condition.
As a result, the Department said the showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces.
Heavy falls about 100mm can be expected at some places, particularly in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces while showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara and Badulla districts after 2.00 pm.
Anuradhapura District will have a few light showers.
Meanwhile, fairly strong gusty winds up to 50kmph can be expected over the Southern Province and Monaragala, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Polonnaruwa districts. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
