Colombo, April 6 (Daily Mirror) - We intend questioning the government in Parliament on the agreements it has signed with India during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when it meets on Tuesday, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha de Silva said today.

"We are not against these agreements but the issue is we don't have any information on these pacts. Especially we don't know what is included in the defence pact. We will question them in Parliament as people of this country have the right to know about these agreements, " he told a media briefing today.

"We are happy to see a party which has been shouting about Indian expansionism welcoming Modi and according the highest honour on him. This has to be done as Sri Lanka should work with India which is almost an economic powerhouse," he added.

Yes. This government supposed to be transparent with all agreements and mou they sign. Also you need to question about all the mou signed with China during akd visit. Supposedly to have signed nearly 15 mou amounting to 10 billion in dollars. Nothing is said so far or no transparency .

We who are not affiliated with any party politics are happy with NPP who have the right to change their policies after realising what is right and best for the country. After learning, everyone has the right to change. There is no shame there. Opposition thought NPP will walk into own policy trap when they were in the opposition. Now the opposition wants NPP to fail but people want NPP to correct own mistakes and govern well. People should win in this battle.

It is given there will be questioned asked about MoU signed. The IMF agreements signed were kept under wraps for so long, there could be secret provisions in the MoU which means they can't be fully made public for decades. The lies about national security put up by India means they will force any agreement to their benefit, without even the public of the other country aware.
