Wildlife Dept. gets 3,500 permanent Multi-tasking Officers to maintain electric fences

Colombo, May 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Public Service Commission has approved the permanent appointment of 3,500 Multi-tasking Officers attached to the Wildlife Department to maintain electric fences, Environment Minister Dr. Dammika Patabendi said.

He told the Daily Mirror that the Multi-tasking Officers had been carrying out their duties across the country without being included in the permanent cadre until now.

This was implemented as a proposal included in the national budget, Minister Patabendi said.
