Wijeya Newspaper’s Janaka Rathnakumara awarded best COO of the year

Colombo, Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) - Chief Operating Officer of the Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. Janaka Rathnakumara has been awarded the Best Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Year at the 23rd Business Leader of the Year event at The Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

“I am truly honoured to receive the Best COO of the Year Award at the 23rd Business Leader of the Year event at The Taj Lands End, Mumbai. This achievement is not mine alone—it is the result of the incredible support and belief of two people who have been instrumental in my journey," he said.

"First, my deepest gratitude to my boss, our MD, who recognised my strengths and leadership potential 20 years ago. He not only groomed me but also provided me with opportunities that shaped my career and brought me to this level. His mentorship has been invaluable, and I am forever grateful for his trust and guidance.

"Second, to my wonderful wife, who has stood by me through every challenge, sacrifice and long hours. Her unwavering support and understanding have been my greatest strength. Without her, this journey would not have been possible.
