Colombo, June 1 (Daily Mirror) - A woman was killed and her husband injured when the motorbike they were riding collided with a bus plying to Colombo from Hambantota.

The couple was travelling to Kalutara from Beruwala this morning when the bus travelling in the same direction crashed against the motorbike.

Police said the woman had been run over by the bus.

They are residents of Mahawatte, Haburugala.

The bus travelling in the same direction. That means, the bus had tried to overtake the motor cycle without giving adequate space while overtaking. If it’s so, life imprisonment to the bus driver please.

Bus driver being a Comrade will only get few days of jail time. After that he will again go on the killing spree. The big talk Transport minister is in solidarity with the Bus drivers so they are playing havoc on the roads now.

Majority bus drivers are extremely dangerous on roads no fear no respect no feelings for other road users it's about time to put tough law and order heavy penalties fines cancellation of public transport licences Inc jail time for careless reckless drivers must be conducted far too many reckless wild drivers everywhere....very sad to loose a life....

This is complete rekless driving !! Not an accident. Willfull murder. I have seen the busses driving on this route many times without regard to human life. Send the driver to prison for at least 20 years minimum as a lesson to other mad drivers. Don't let the police say that the brakes failed or some such nonsence , just for money , bribes and influence as is usually the case. and as is usually done !! This just have to stop. If the NPP can't stop this madness , nobody can !!
