Colombo, April 8 (Daily Mirror) - Multi-day boats operating in the deep sea areas of southwest Bay of Bengal are advised to stay alert to future forecasts, as a low-pressure area currently in the region is likely to move north-north-westward over the next 24 hours, the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Meteorology Department said.
The fishing and naval communities are also urged to closely monitor future updates issued by the Meteorology Department in this regard.
Temporarily strong winds of up to 60 km/h, accompanied by heavy rainfall and rough seas, are likely to affect the aforementioned sea areas, the Department said.
