Colombo, July 20 (Daily Mirror) - A stock of arms including three live hand grenades and swords were recovered from the house of an ASP at Nattaranpotha in Kandy. A police team from Kandy police carried out the raid and seized the weapons on information provided by the ASPs wife to a senior police official in Kandy. Investigations revealed that the ASP attached to a police division in the North had been living in the rented house with his wife and three children, but a family dispute between husband and wife had prevailed since long,Police said the weapons had been hidden in the ASP's wardrobe and that they were handed over to Pallekele police for further action.Pallekele police and the Kandy Special Crime Investigation Unit are conducting further investigations.
