Wealthy Minds Academy faces SEC caution for reckless social media posts



Sri Lanka’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the regulator of the capital market, has issued a notice of caution to Wealthy Minds Academy (Private) Limited and two of its directors for their reckless conduct in disseminating information on social media platforms regarding certain securities listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

On April 4, the SEC issued the notice of caution to Wealthy Minds Academy (Private) Limited and the two directors: Rajapaksha Dunuge Kavinda Harith Rajapaksha and W. L. P. Thisura Wishwa Prabathiya Wijesinghe.

The Commission noted that their conduct on social media platforms constitutes an offence under Section 131 (1) (c) of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka Act No. 19 of 2021.

Based in Gampaha, Wealthy Minds Academy is listed as an educational consultant. It maintains a combined follower base of nearly 500,000 across popular social media platforms including TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
